Synergy MedAesthetics is proud to be one of the first aesthetic providers in Washington (and the Pacific Northwest) to offer the PDO thread lifting technique. Synergy Senior Medical Advisor, Amanda Friese, PA, and our Master Injector, Rene Janke, RN, both have extensive training on this technique.

In addition, they were privileged to privately train with the foremost authority in PDO thread lifting, Dr. Anil Rajani. As a patient, you can relax with full confidence knowing the training and experience your provider has.

This treatment is most commonly referred to as a non-surgical facelift, but we are now able to lift and tighten tissue all over the body. We can now use our PDO thread lift in Kennewick for many areas on the body, including the face and neck, including above the knees and on the stomach and arms.

What is the PDO Thread Lift?

Thread lifts traditionally used temporary sutures to produce a visible skin lift to tighten the sagging skin. In this technique which is an alternative to traditional facelift surgery, the cosmetic surgeon stitched up portions of the skin that need to be lifted.

Traditional thread lifts, however, involved surgery and were associated with unwanted side effects including thread breakage and infections.

In recent times, there has been a radical change in the way thread lift procedures are done. PDO thread lift is one of the most popular, non-invasive techniques of skin tightening.

How Does It Work?

PDO stands for polydioxanone which is the substance used in the PDO thread lift technique. The threads are introduced into the skin’s deeper layers where they begin to exert different actions including:

  • Instant skin lifting
  • Stimulation of collagen and cellular renewal that promotes new tissue growth to reduce fine lines and promote elasticity
  • Skin tightening due to contraction of fat tissue

The PDO threads gradually disappear after six months through a simple hydrolysis process where the body absorbs them. The improved facial contours are maintained for as long as three to six months, sometimes more because of the deeper cellular rejuvenation effects.

While new collagen is produced, tissue growth and skin microcirculation are facilitated. Our Kennewick PDO thread lift also cause contraction of fat tissue which leads to the desired skin tightening effect.

PDO Thread Lift Procedure

At Synergy, our primary focus is offering highly advanced non-invasive treatments to achieve optimal skin rejuvenation, tightening, and healing. We are involved in continued medical education which enables our practitioners to stay updated on the latest techniques and treatments.

Before the procedure, your skin health candidacy, overall medical history, and medications are reviewed in detail at our Kennewick med spa.

The practitioner begins the procedure by numbing the area with a local anesthetic. Using blunt or sharp-tip needles, the practitioner inserts PDO threads into skin layers. The threads, once inserted, anchor the skin while lifting it up, while any excess threads are cut off.

The procedure can take between 45 to 60 minutes to complete, based on the extent of the areas to be treated.

The best practices we follow at Synergy ensure there is minimal discomfort during the PDO thread lift procedure. Any minor bruising or swelling subsides within two to three days and you will be able to resume your normal activities following the treatment.

What Areas Can PDO Thread Lifting Treat?

PDO thread lift technique can be effectively used to treat the jawline, cheeks, brows, arms, neck, nasolabial folds, thighs, knees, marionette lines, and abdomen.

How Long Do Results Last?

The PDO thread lift produces immediate results because we achieve mechanical skin-lifting and tightening. However, the peak lifting effect is observed after six months when new collagen forms which improves the texture and volume of the skin. The results can last as long as two years as the body produces nutrients including new elastin, collagen, and hyaluronic acid.
