Our Sculptra in Kennewick addresses the underlying cause of facial aging, not just the symptoms. As a poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) collagen stimulator, Sculptra Aesthetic is different. It works with your body within the deep dermis, rather than topically, to help revitalize collagen production and help restore your skin’s inner structure and volume.

As the Sculptra Aesthetic natural PLLA microparticles (derived from beetroot) are absorbed, they help stimulate collagen production. Rebuilt collagen strands gradually begin restoring facial volume, bringing fullness and smoothness to wrinkles and folds.

Sculptra® Aesthetic Treatments

Sculpture Aesthetic is a terrific first-line treatment to give your face a youthful base prior to any fillers and skin-tightening treatments. In many cases, patients need significantly less or no longer require dermal fillers after Sculptra Aesthetic. By stimulating your own natural collagen, results last longer than fillers alone. Clinical studies show 87% continued to experience results two years after treatment. Results occur gradually over 3 months. No one will know what is different, but they will notice just how great you look!

Before & After

What Causes Wrinkles and Fine Lines?

The most visible and distressing signs of aging are wrinkles and fine lines. While most people wish to retain the flawless appearance of the skin in younger years, fine lines begin to appear typically in our 30s. Wrinkles are usually noticeable in the 40s and 50s and appear on sun-exposed skin including forearms, neck, hands, and face.

Although genetics play a role in determining our skin texture and structure, exposure to ultraviolet rays, certain medications, smoking, pollutants, and lifestyle choices also contribute to wrinkles in younger age.

The skin’s texture and volume is maintained by two key proteins called collagen and elastin. Collagen is a protein that is in abundance in our muscles, bones, tendons and, most importantly, the skin. As a structural protein, collagen provides a scaffold for the skin which helps it retain volume and firmness.

The levels of collagen decrease with age, but they can also get depleted due to excessive ultraviolet exposure, pollutants, smoking, and damage to the skin. Many people begin to notice fine lines or wrinkles in their late 20s or early 30s.

Aging may be an irreversible process but signs of aging can be reversed. Our Kennewick Sculptra Aesthetic boosts collagen production in the skin to eliminate fine lines and wrinkles, giving you long-lasting results you can be pleased with.

How Sculptra Aesthetic Rejuvenates Your Skin

Sculptra Aesthetic contains poly-L-lactic acid which is a known collagen stimulator.

It received FDA approval in 2004 for treating loss of fat in immune-compromised people. Sculptra Aesthetic was approved in 2009 by the FDA to treat facial wrinkles and nasolabial folds of varying severity.

Polylactides have been safely used in many medical applications including soft-tissue implants. The L-isomer (a variant) of polylactic acid is a synthetic polymer that is biocompatible and biodegradable. Poly-L-lactic acid microparticles stimulate collagen production when injected into the skin. Collagen build-up over time results in restoration of skin volume while the microparticles are metabolized in the body to water and carbon dioxide and expelled out of the body via the respiratory system.

What Does the Procedure Involve?

At our boutique med spa in Kennewick, a detailed assessment of your health, medication, and allergy history is conducted. Our practitioner then evaluates your skin to note the extent of wrinkles, fine lines, and creases that need to be treated before recommending a customized treatment plan.

During the procedure, our licensed practitioner first numbs the area to be treated with a mild local anesthetic and then injects Sculptra into the deep layers of skin using a fine needle. After each injection, the area is massaged to ensure the even distribution of poly-L-lactic acid. The treatment takes less than 30 minutes and you can resume your activities after the session.
